Hard to Get a Hold of: The Humanscale Liberty Chair

Hard to Get a Hold of: The Humanscale Liberty Chair

Somehow, the Liberty Chair always finds its way back to Brian’s desk.

At HS headquarters, we trade chairs pretty frequently, so that we know firsthand about as many models of ergonomic office chair as possible. One chair in particular seems hard to get a hold of though, and that’s the Humanscale Liberty Chair with a gel seat. That’s because Brian hogs it a little bit.

I can’t blame him. The tri-panel mesh back on that chair isn’t quite like any other we carry. It is very firm, with the mesh itself providing support that is normally distributed among lumbar pads or other devices. In my opinion, it’s one of the most comfortable backs of any chair we offer, mesh or padded.

The gel seat, a Humanscale exclusive, is great for workers who, like us, sit for long periods. It needs body heat to keep it soft and conforming, so users who are up and down frequently may prefer a regular foam seat.

Otherwise, the liberty is a very stylishly designed chair. It has multiple mesh, fabric and leather options, so you are sure to find something that fits your decor.

Brian and the Liberty chair are tough to part, but that is because it is one of the best out there.
