Make your mark in the office. If you're looking for an adjustable height desk with character, the UPLIFT Stand Up Desk with Reclaimed Wood Top really tells a story. Years of expanding and contracting make every reclaimed wood desk different, unique, and one-of-a-kind. It's the budget- and eco-friendly standing desk to get you working in better postures in seconds, all with the press of a button.
Each of our reclaimed wood tops are handcrafted from reclaimed Douglas Fir or Teak. Rest easy knowing that you're enhancing the character of your office and improving productivity while saving another salvaged tree from ending up in a landfill.
We can't help but brag about the UPLIFT frame, which we have been perfecting for years. Quiet dual-motors raise and lower the desk to your preferred working height, getting you to the ideal sitting or standing position in a hurry. The feet are made from cast-molded aluminum and the frame comes in your pick of three colors to match with your office style.
The smart C-frame design means there's no bulky crossbar in the way, giving you freedom to accessorize with under-desk accessories like a CPU holder and keyboard tray. Another added bonus? So much more legroom underneath for you, with room to stretch and sprawl when you want.
Available in several sizes to fit nearly any workstation, its frame is width-adjustable and can be expanded or contracted to fit future desk setups if need be. Looking for a smaller desktop? The UPLIFT Space Saver Standing Desk has our most popular desktops in 24" depths.
If you're looking for a different style of desktop, try building an eco laminate, bamboo, premium solid wood, or rubberwood solid wood adjustable height standing desk. UPLIFT height adjustable desks meet or exceed all applicable section requirements of ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2008 Desk Product Test Standards, which means that your desk conforms to the safety and durability requirements set forth by BIFMA. Note: Wood Desktops and Dry Climates
If the air in your area is especially dry, your wood desktop could be at increased risk of cracking and splitting. Wood naturally expands and contracts depending on the amount of moisture in the environment, and without enough humidity, the moisture in your desk can evaporate, leaving it vulnerable to warping.
It's a completely natural process, but it's unfortunately something that could affect your new wood desktop. If your desktop does crack or split, we're happy to send you a repair kit to fill the affected areas. If potentially repairing your wood desktop isn't something you're comfortable with, we recommend that you take a look at our Bamboo, Eco, or Laminate desktops instead.
If your desktop has already warped, please click here for instructions on using our solid wood desktop repair kit.
Please contact us if you have additional questions.
- What does it mean when you say the wood is "reclaimed"?
Instead of cutting down new trees to make your desktop, we take boards that have been previously used in building projects and revitalize them into the UPLIFT Desk Reclaimed Wood Desktop. You get a wood desktop for cheaper than our UPLIFT Solid Wood Desktops, which are made to order. You also help save a tree by ordering a desktop that breathes new life into reclaimed wood.
- Where do you get the reclaimed wood?
The Douglas Fir is sourced from a variety of sites like old mills, construction projects, barns, and whiskey stills. The Teak comes from dismantled buildings in Indonesia.
- Are the Reclaimed Wood desktops smooth?
Reclaimed wood, by its definition, will have some wear and imperfections that would not be present in a new piece of wood. There can be some texture to the desktop surface, which may make handwriting or drawing on a reclaimed wood top a bit of a challenge. The Douglas Fir option, which does not have a lacquer finish, is typically the rougher of the two styles.
- I see a piece of wood underneath my Douglas Fir desktop. What is that?
That is just the plywood backing that UPLIFT Desk Douglas Fir desks use to increase stability.
- Does this top come in custom sizes?
No, our Reclaimed Wood Desktops are only available in the sizes listed.
- Is it possible to get grommets on this top?
In order to protect the integrity of the desktop, we do not drill grommet holes into the UPLIFT Desk Reclaimed Wood Desktops.
- Why are these so much cheaper than the other solid wood desks?
The Reclaimed Wood Desktops are pre-cut and kept in stock in our warehouse. When you order a Solid Wood Desktop it will be handmade after your order is placed.
- How durable are reclaimed wood tops?
Reclaimed wood tops were created from distressed wood that's had years to harden and wear. Because of this they tend to be heartier than even the solid woods and are typically a bit more scratch resistant.
- What is the difference between the Reclaimed Teak and the Reclaimed Douglas Fir?
The Reclaimed Teak Desktop has a smoother surface and a hint of red in the color. The Reclaimed Douglas Fir Desktop has a more rustic look, with a bit more character or variation to the wood.
- Can I use this for a conference table?
If you want a reclaimed wood conference table, check out our Woodland Conference Table. It offers seating around the entire table top thanks to the T-shaped legs.
- How does the UPLIFT Desk warranty work?
We provide warranty assistance for 7 years on our UPLIFT desks. We do not send out a technician to fix your desk, but we will send you replacement parts and will work with you over the phone to install the replacement parts. Imperfections are to be expected on a Reclaimed Wood Desktop and will not be covered under warranty.
- Can I use this desk for anything other than a standard office setup?
Of course you can! Our UPLIFT desks are durable as well as flexible, in the sense that they can be used for a variety of applications. A Reclaimed Wood Desk would make a great gaming desk or crafting table.
- Besides the rustic look, why would I want to choose reclaimed wood over a new solid wood desktop?
Choosing a desktop that is made from reclaimed wood is an environmentally friendly choice. Instead of chopping down another tree, your desktop will be made using wood from an old building. Reclaimed wood is also a lot stronger than newly harvested wood, as it has had years to harden.
- What is the carrying capacity of a Reclaimed Wood Desk?
Our UPLIFT Desk Reclaimed Wood Desk is able to support a 355 lb load!
- How sturdy is the UPLIFT Desk?
If you decide to go with a Reclaimed Wood Desktop, you will get a stable UPLIFT frame topped with a sturdy 1.5" thick Douglas Fir or 1.25" thick Teak desktop. You can't go wrong with that combination!
- How should I care for my Reclaimed Wood Desk?
Standard dusting with a microfiber towel should keep your desktop clean. If you happen to spill something on your desk, just quickly wipe it up with a damp, soapy towel.
- Can I order a sample of the reclaimed wood?
We do not have samples of our UPLIFT Desk Reclaimed Wood Desktops. If you happen to be in the area, you can stop by our showroom located in Austin, TX.
- Is this desk easy to assemble?
Yes, our assembly video shows just how easy it is to assemble an UPLIFT desk! We have tried to make the assembly process as easy for you as we can so that you will be able to enjoy the benefits of standing in no time.
- Will this desk work with my outlets and voltage if I live outside of the US?
Every UPLIFT Desk is designed to run on the US electricity standard of 120V, so if you're ordering an UPLIFT Desk from outside the United States, with the exception of Canadian provinces, you'll need to plug your desk into a step down transformer, otherwise you run the risk of overloading your desk's control box, which is not covered by UPLIFT Desk's warranty. Please contact our team if you still have questions.
- How can I tell which version of control box I have?
You can quickly and easily check to tell which version you have on your UPLIFT Desk by looking at the silver label on it. If that says v4.1, v4.2, or v4.3, you have the newest version of UPLIFT Desk's control box, complete with new features!
- What are some of the new features??
UPLIFT Desk's version 4 control box comes with a revolutionary new safety feature: Collision Sensitivity. This feature lets you set the sensitivity for your desk, so when adjusting, the desk stops when it touches an object, instead of raising and lowering, which can cause accidents. Keypad Lockout is another exciting new safety feature UPLIFT Desk added to the functionality. Keep unwanted hands from adjusting your desk when this feature is activated. Users will be able to toggle between One-Touch and Constant-Touch modes with just a few buttons, in addition to being able to switch between inches and centimeters on the advanced keypad.
- Why do UPLIFT Desks come with three-stage frames?
All UPLIFT Desk frames feature ergonomically-leading three-stage frames vs the traditional two-stage frames, which means UPLIFT desks are 33% faster thanks to 3 spindles in each leg instead of their competitors' 2. This means you have a wider adjustability range to adjust the desk up and down. UPLIFT Desks fit shorter users, kids, all the way up to very tall users or those who plan on adding a treadmill to their setups at a later time.
- What are dual motors?
All UPLIFT Desks come with a dual-motor design, so each leg gets its own motor. This makes UPLIFT Desks quieter to adjust, stronger and more reliable, and safer than desks with just a single motor. When you're updating your desk, don't forget the little details that make UPLIFT Desks better than others on the market.

This is one of the best looking desks I've ever owned. By far the best looking standing desk, I've seen. I bought one for my home office a few months ago and when my company asked what desk I wanted for my office. I did not hesitate to buy another.
Buy this desk and you will be very happy..
Sturdy, easy to install, looks great.
This is the one. I too work from home and needed something flexible for sitting and standing. Assembly was easy (I did it myself) with pre-drilled holes and an instruction guide - easy. I went with the reclaimed douglas fir and it is beautiful. I recommend springing for the delivery service because this is heavy. It is very sturdy. I purchased the swivel little desk tray and the laptop tray both of which leave my desktop pretty clean. I also purchased the treadmill too - which definitely needs delivery service. No issues whatsoever. Recommend!
I work from home for a software company and require 2 monitors. My wife found this desk searching for a desk large enough we could share it in our small home office area. We loved the idea of having a reclaimed teak desk and it matches the cedar trim in our home here in the Pacific Northwest.
The desk arrived on time with no damage and was easy to assemble. Be forewarned - the desk is heavy and a little help will be needed during assembly. Our top was pre-drilled and assembly was pretty easy.
Now, being an IT professional - I have a different preference than the power strip we received as part of the kit. But it does the job.
There were no issues and we will recommend Human Solution products.
It is an incredibly beautiful desk. A slightly different tint than the one pictured but I suppose it is to be expected when it is refurbished. We bought the 80x30 and are using it as a double desk. My husband and I both can game comfortably on it. We bought this desk specifically because I had back surgery and can't sit to game for extended periods of time, this desk gives me the ability to game longer (yay, lol). It is incredibly easy to put together.
The keypad with programmable buttons is an amazing feature!!! I absolutely love it. The wheels are something I also would suggest purchasing, they make any wire adjustments or connection much easier. The wire management kit is also nice if you are interested in keeping wires out of sight. We did splurge on the CPU holder but ended up not using at this point. But we have it if we change our minds. I highly recommend it.
I was patient before I decided on the Uplift desk and that prolonged patience was coupled with careful review of different brands and products..
My desk was delivered in about one week from Texas to Washington state. The parts came in three packages as I purchased the CPU holder. Assembly took about 45 minutes and was very straight forward with good instructions. All I needed was a screwdriver and the supplied allen wrench.
I recommend this desk to anyone looking for an electronic adjustable height desk.
I considered several companies for a desk like this and was attracted to this because of the refurbished surface. I'm thrilled with my purchase. This is quieter than the standing desk I have at work. I went with the 72" instead of just the 60" and it meets my needs perfectly. I keep 3 monitors on my desk and there's room to put my work laptop there as well, sort of in front of one of the other monitors. the surface of the desk is very smooth despite being refurbished wood. It's clear they sanded it down before coating it. It's VERY nice quality.
I opted for the keypad with 4 programmable adjustable settings. At work I use a standing desk with only the up/down arrows. It gets annoying having to hold the buttons because I have to stop what I'm doing and wait for the desk to adjust. With this keypad I can just press a button and go get coffee, make a phone call, etc.
I highly advise splurging on the cable management and cpu holder. You'll have to either get longer cables for your minors/mouse/keyboard anyways, so for the cost the holder is a no brainer. Cables are much more visible when the desk is standing than they are on any sitting desk, so you won't regret it. I considered ordering cable management components on Amazon because this pack felt expensive, but having ordered their kit, I'd highly recommend going with it. You get plenty of everything you need and the power strip can attach to the bottom of the desk, which is harder to find.
+ Extremely quiet
+ Smooth surface
+ Available in 72" width
Cons: - Not available in a darker stain
Received order this week and looks and feels fantastic. Everyone who's seen it so far has loved it. I ordered the advanced memory key pad to set it like i want it which is awesome and very smooth when it goes up or down. Such a difference to be able to work at all different levels. Its only been a few days but so far i love it. The assembly was fairly straightforward. Took me about 2 hours...taking my time! I got all the other accessories for cable management and as an FYI the clamp surge protector does not fit on the desk. Had i read the all the details prior i would have seen this but i can still clamp it on metal part...just not as nice but no biggie. I also ordered the motion stool which so far i like...it is a smaller surface then a regular chair so not as comfortable long term to sit...BUT that' the point, then you stand up and move a little!
Response from The Human Solution: Thanks for your comments, Mathieu! The clamp-on USB surge protector will not fit on the edge of the reclaimed wood desktops, as you mentioned, but most people find that it's a good compromise to clamp it onto the desk frame ends. It's not quite as convenient, but so many people wanted the extra functionality of that surge protector, and some people like to have all of the cables hidden away under the desk so will even clamp it onto the bottom with thinner desktops. I'm glad that option is working out for you!
After a bulging disc in my back I visited the Chiropractor and he strongly suggested I invest in a Standing Desk. Certainly there are MUCH cheaper options than an electric standing desk with reclaimed wood but I figured if I'm going to spend on one I'm at least going to get one I liked. Boy am I glad I did. This desk is awesome!
I added the advanced keypad and I use all 4 settings. Currently I'm between 3 seated positions and a standing one. I'm up and down every hour or so. Doing any one position too long becomes fatiguing so it's great to have this much freedom. The reclaimed wood top looked a little different in person than on the website. I wasn't sure at first if it was for me. But I'm a big fan now. I was also worried about the uneven surface and seems in a reclaimed wood top vs a solid piece of wood. But I wasn't going to go with the solid wood top because the cost was too much. It's been about a month now and I haven't had any problems using either of my mice on it (logitech and Apple Magic Mouse). I got a mousepad just in case but so far haven't needed it.
I also added on the Wire Management kit. It definitely helps to manage all my cables and I have a lot with 3 laptops and a set of 2.1 speakers on it.
Building it wasn't hard.
If I sound like I'm gushing it's because this is probably the most satisfying thing I've bought in a long time. The only negative I have is the cost. Just over a thousand dollars for a desk was more than steep. It was a hair into the too much realm. If I didn't work from home I wouldn't have bought it. I'm glad I did. But $800 sounds more reasonable.
+ quality construction
+ smooth operation
+ easy to put together
