Shipping Information

Most products available on The Human Solution_® website can be shipped to Canada. To order, just place your order as usual. For larger items, we will contact you regarding shipping costs. For Humanscale, Workrite and Mayline products, please read special information below.

How your order ships depends on what you order. On most items, you have a choice between USPS International Priority mail, UPS Standard to Canada or UPS Worldwide Expedited. Heavier items including some desks, chairs and anti-fatigue mats may require freight shipping. Shipping rates on these items are determined on a case-by-case basis. If you place your order online, we will contact you after you place your order with shipping information and costs. If you prefer, call us and we can give you that information in advance and take your order over the phone.

Shipping Options

• USPS Priority International - this is usually the least expensive choice and perfect for smaller items. Chairs, mats, larger monitor arms and other furniture usually cannot be shipped via the USPS. We will not ship items over $1500 via USPS. Delivery time is usually between 6-10 business days and your items may be delayed in customs. There are no brokerage fees. Tracking is limited to shipping, customs, and delivery dates. We do insure your order though claims for lost packages take considerably longer to process than via UPS.
• UPS Standard to Canada - this service ships by ground transportation. Orders shipped via UPS Standard will incur an import brokerage fee in addition to GST taxes. See the chart below to calculate the estimated brokerage costs associated with this shipping option. This chart is for forecasting purposes only. Actual charges may vary.
• UPS Worldwide Expedited - this method is your fastest choice and is free of additional brokerage fees.

• Your shipping account - we can export using your FedEX or UPS account (no DHL).You must have customs brokerage pre-arranged or use the standard FedEx or UPS brokerage services. We do not charge any fee to ship on your account.

Duties and Taxes

Duties and taxes are assessed by the Canadian government and may vary by province and locality. In most cases, we do not collect and/or pre-pay duties, taxes or GST. We do collect GST in advance for product lines where the manufacturer ships to you directly from their warehouse. UPS will assess a 2.7% fee for duties and taxes not prepaid. They also assess a Collect on Delivery Fee of $4.25.

Brand Specific Shipping and GST Information

Workrite Products

All Workrite products except for workstations and desks ship free to the major cities within Canada including: Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Lloydminister, Calgary, Lethbridge, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Regina, Brandon, Winnepeg, Kenora, Thunder Bay, Windsor, Sarnia, Woodstock, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.

Products that ship to Canada from Workrite:

• Keyboard trays, monitor arms, accessory rails, accessories and lamps ship free
• Workstations/desks ship at 8% of full retail price
• You will have to prepay 6% GST taxes before we can ship your items

If your city is not listed, we will need to bring your product into our warehouse in Austin and ship from here. Shipping rates will then depend on the method selected.

Mayline Products

We will need to get a shipping quote in advance. Duties and brokerage fees are collected in advance.

Humanscale Products

Humanscale requires that we collect a 5% GST of the purchase price in advance on all shipments to Canada. Items ship to their warehouse in Canada before being shipped to you, so tracking information is not as rapidly available. This method is usually far less expensive than other shipping options.

• Chairs ship for a flat $95 to bordering provinces. Other locations will be quoted on a case by case basis.
• Other items will either ship USPS International from our warehouses in Austin or ship via Humanscale's Canadian pool. This can be calculated on a per order basis. We only collect and pre-pay GST if shipping via Humanscale. If we ship it to you from our warehouse, payment of GST and other import taxes and fees remains the responsibility of the recipient.
