Exercising at Work During the Day Could Help You Sleep Better at Night

Feeling tired? Maybe that’s because you’re not getting enough exercise. This information was revealed in the National Sleep Foundation's 2013 Sleep in America Poll in March. The study discovered that the more you exercise, the better you sleep.

“We also found a step-wise increase in how vigorous the quality [of sleep] is, in terms of how much you exercise," Max Hirshkowitz, a sleep researcher, told Reuters. "So, if you say you exercise a lot, we found better sleep quality. For people who don't exercise at all, we found more sleep problems.”

The study defined exercise as doing as little as 10 minutes of physical activity a day, including walking. This is especially good news for people who are using a treadmill at work, as the time spent at a treadmill desk is paying off in other ways besides helping you burn calories.

Every desk at Human Solution has a treadmill, and I can tell you that people with treadmill desks use them more than ten minutes a day. That means we all must be sleeping well at night.
