Big and Tall Ergonomic Chair Review: Steelcase Leap Plus

Author: Angela Arnold | Posted:

Many times, selecting a big and tall office chair means sacrificing style and extra features for basic functionality. The Human Solution has a wide selection of big and tall chairs that offer the same great looks and features as our standard office chairs, with dimensions and weight limits that will allow everyone in the office to sit in comfort and style.

The Steelcase Leap Chair is one of our most popular chairs, but with a weight limit of 400 pounds, it's not suitable for use as a big and tall office chair. Luckily, Steelcase also makes a heavy duty version of the Leap, called the Leap Plus. The Leap Plus has the same great features as the Leap, but has a wider seat and back, as well as a 500 pound weight capacity. Like the original Leap, the Leap Plus has Liveback technology that allows the shape of the chair back to change and support your spine as you move. The slats in the back means that the chair is breathable and supportive, and the adjustable seat depth allows you to find the perfect fit, whether you are tall or short. One of my favorite things about Steelcase chairs are the arms. They are height adjustable, move forward and back, pivot, and most importantly, they are width adjustable. This means that you can pull the armrests in closer if you find that they are too wide, or you can slide them out a little farther if you need the extra width.

Some common issues that plus size users have mentioned to us when they are shopping for chairs is that they have noticed that the back or arms of their chairs tend to break, or the cylinder stops working. When this happens, they end up buying another chair, and even with inexpensive chairs this cost quickly starts adding up. Although the Leap Plus is priced higher than most chairs at big box office stores, this higher price comes with the quality that you expect from Steelcase and the customer support that you expect from The Human Solution's team of ergonomic experts. This chair has a lifetime warranty, which means that replacement parts are free and are just a phone call away. If a part breaks on your chair, all you need to do is give us a call and we will have a replacement shipped out at no cost to you so you can get your chair back up and working again.

Since we realize that it can be hard to make such a large purchase without being able to see or try the chair in person, one more thing that I wanted to mention about this chair, and this holds true for most of our other Steelcase chairs, is that Steelcase has a 30 day Free Ship, Free Return promotion. This is a great way to try Steelcase products risk-free for thirty days! If you decide that the chair isn't for you, contact us within 30 days of delivery to set up a return. There's no restocking fee, and we'll send you a pre-paid FedEx shipping label.

If you have any questions about this chair or any of our other ergonomic chairs, please give us a call at 800-531-3746, talk with one of our experts via chat, or fill out our chair selector tool on our ergonomic chair page.
