The Humanscale Liberty Chair has automatic recline and seat pan angle movement. It moves with you throughout the dayt and automatically provides the right amount of recline tension for your body size and weight. You never have to make an adjustment. Most chairs have two separate adjustments for tilt and tilt tension, but the Liberty Chair needs none at all. The Liberty chair uses two settings: one to adjust the height of your seat and one to adjust the seat depth. All this simplicity, and the chair feels like it is custom made for comfort and support. The Liberty Chair moves and works with you; change positions without stopping to adjust your chair, focus on the task at hand or just sit back and relax. The Liberty chair is custom made per order at the Humanscale factory and ships direct to you.
Humanscale Liberty Chair Features
- Self-adjusting recline that features an intelligent, counterbalance reclining mechanism that automatically provides exactly the right amount of support throughout the full range of the recline motion, regardless of your size or weight. This means there are no tension springs to adjust, no recline locks to set or release and the angle between your torso and legs opens up for better body function.
- A pivoting backrest provides for extra motion of the backrest during recline that will automatically adjust to the changing needs of your spine, providing additional lumbar support as needed. The Humanscale Liberty also allows you to maintain near constant eye level while reclining.
- Form-sensing mesh sewn into a tri-panel, non-stretch seat back creates body-fitting contours, and a self-adjusting lumbar support provides a truly customized fit. This means there is no external lumbar device to adjust. All mesh choices are low abrasion too, so your clothes are safe.
- Contoured seat cushion is carefully sculpted to match your body's contours and increase contact area and reduce pressure points.
- The Liberty chair is sized to fit over 95% of the population; taller or shorter users can opt for a low or high cylinder, but standard cylinders work for most of our customers.
- 3" dual-surface casters roll easily on carpeted floors and quietly on hard floors

What do you lose by purchasing a Humanscale product from a non-authorized source?
- While some unauthorized sellers may have their own warranty, it is usually very limited in scope, often as short as 30 days. The warranty is only as good as the dealer who backs it; if they go out of business, your warranty is gone with them.
- Humanscale assigns serial numbers to every chair they manufacturer - this record details the original purchaser and ensures the lifetime warranty is only valid for the original purchaser. You cannot purchase replacement parts, pads or fabric without the serial number. Additionally if your chair breaks, you cannot get it repaired.
- Humanscale chairs are rated to 250 pounds and a 40 hour work week. If a refurbished chair has seen more use than this, its lifetime will be shortened.
- When comparing dealers and pricing, read the description thoroughly. As all authorized dealers are subject to the same minimum advertised pricing, any dealer lower should be suspect.

The Liberty arms are very unique. Aside from several different armpads to choose from, fixed or adjustable arms are available as well. The height adjustable arms lower down to the seat cushion and out of the way while working at a desk or on a keyboard tray.- No armrests

Our recommendation: The gel seat has a firmer "sit" that takes a few minutes to warm up and get soft. If you sit all day and have back problems, you'll likely love it. If you are up and down more, you may prefer the standard foam cushioning.
Seat Height - Humanscale Liberty Chair
The standard cylinder on the Liberty fits most of our users, but taller and shorter individuals might want to opt for the tall or short cylinder to make sure their legs get the support they need. Drafting chairs configurations are also available for high chairs with a foot ring.- Standard height cylinder works for 95% of all people

Let me offer an analogy that sometimes helps folks understand this chair. The Liberty chair is like an automatic car. It does not have adjustments (multiple levers and knobs) that you need to make throughout the day to stay ergonomic. So do you like to drive an automatic car? If so, try the Liberty chair and quit shifting gears while you try to work. It will also help you to stop staying in "first gear" in your chair by making automatic posture changes possible. The recline and seat pan angle adjust automatically. The Liberty shifts for you. Your engine (Upper and Lower Back) will last longer if you let it shift naturally throughout the day...
