The Steelcase Amia chair was born of the same great minds that created the wildly popular Steelcase Leap chair and its design reflects the care and thought Steelcase puts into chair design. Don't let its conservative appearances fool you into thinking "its just a chair," sit in it. Love it. Feel how the LiveLumbar® follows your movement without compromising support for your back. Slide and pivot your arms into exactly the position that is most comfortable for you and supportive of your work style. Superior adjustability and a weight limit of up to 300lbs means this chair fits more people well. The Amia is equally comfortable for the 5' tall woman as it is for the 6'3" man. Few chairs can make that claim. The Steelcase Amia chair is also good for the environment and has earned the Silver Cradle to Grave certification, as well as the SCS Indoor Advantage designation for indoor air quality, so the Amia may help your project qualify for extra LEED credits. The Amia chair is 97% recyclable by weight, and may be constructed of up to 30% recycled materials. |

The Amia chair has similar qualities of the Leap at a lower price. We have an Amia and a Leap in our office and both are very comfortable but amazingly several of us think the Amia is actually more comfortable. Hard to believe because it has a significantly lower price point. And it's a tough chair that can provide ergonomic seating to intensive computer users weighing up to 300 lbs. It's very convenient to adjust the tilt tension control and adjustable lumbar support. The arms are extremely well designed and have great adjustability. The regular gas cylinder fits users as small as 5'3" and there's a shorter 4" cylinder for those under 5'3". In the Best of Neocon 2007 competition the Amia won a Gold in the ergonomic category.
