LED Lights Shine Bright and Last Long

This is the fourth entry in a series about ergonomic LED lighting

Lights should shine bright and last long; that’s the idea behind ergonomic LED lighting.

LED lights are becoming more common in offices and homes, and it’s easy to see why. While a quality LED task lamp may cost a little more when compared to an incandescent bulb desk lamp, LEDs are clearly the more solid investment. LEDs are more energy-efficient, they last longer, and they’re brighter and less labor intensive.

The latest LEDs use as little as 10% of the energy used by incandescent bulbs, yet they offer much brighter illumination than incandescents. The latest line of Humanscale LED Task Lights consume a small amount of energy and are designed to produce a bright, clean, white ergonomic light source that create only one shadow – perfect for changing tasks and on-the-spot illumination.

Humanscale’s Element 790 LED Light emits 250 lumens of focused white light, and it uses only 7 watts of energy. The Element 790 provides as much light as a 70 watt incandescent bulb, but it only consumes 10% of the energy. The new, sleek-looking Humanscale Horizon LED Task Light produces glare-free 3000K LED light and consumes only 9 watts of energy. Plus, it features a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours.

Unlike desk lamps that use incandescent bulbs, an LED can burn strong for up to two decades or longer. An LED light like Humanscale’s Element 790 can last as long as 60,000 hours, which is up to 30 years of daily use in a 9-to-5 office environment. LEDs last 25 times longer than incandescents, making them the much less labor intensive solution. With an LED lamp, you won’t have to replace your bulb every few months, saving you time, energy, and money.

Next week, we’ll review how LED lights create little to no flickering.
