BodyBilt offers a chair that truly fits you. Most chair manufacturers create a chair designed to fit the "average" person, but what is average? A chair that fits a 5'3" woman well is not going to be as comfortable for a 6'2" man. To achieve proper fit, a chair needs to be the correct width, and your seat must adjust to the correct depth. A chair seat that is too deep creates pressure on the back of your legs, which can create circulatory problems such as varicose veins. A chair too shallow isn't going to support your long legs. BodyBilt addresses the "everybody" situation with their series of customizable chairs. You select the back, seat and other options that will best fit your body and address any health issues you might have. Note: These chairs have been approved as medical devices so if you have health issues that can be addressed with this chair, there may be tax incentives for your purchase. Check with your doctor and accountant.
In addition to sizing these chairs correctly, BodyBilt also offers a menu of special features that allow you to tailor your chair to address pain issues including back, neck, thoracic, shoulder, arm and hip pain. There is no chair on the market that offers more comfort.
Like all BodyBilt high-back chairs, the BodyBilt stretch series provides exceptional comfort with upper and low back support. The 12-Point Posture Control adjustability allows your fingers to adjust the tools to address and alleviate stressful aches and pains; few chairs on the market offer this level of control.
With BodyBilt's family of chairs, you can outfit your entire office with chairs that "look" alike but fit each unique worker and their special health needs. The stretch chair is also available for 24/7 intensive use applications. Please call us for more information and pricing on the intensive use version of these chairs.

The mechanism determines how your chair adjusts and how it moves.
J mechanism - The J mechanism is the most popular, as it maximizes the adjustability of the chair and pivots from the center of your seat. Both seat and back angles are infinitely adjustable throughout their range of motion. When tilt-lock is unlocked, this chair moves comfortably with your body. The J mechanism can be used with a seat slider or back depth adjuster to allow for correct seat depth adjustment. |
|
|||
K mechanism - The K mechanism is perfect for users who want the maximum recline and who enjoy rocking in their chair. The K mechanism pivots from below the knee, hence the greater rocking motion than other mechanisms. When tilt-lock is unlocked, this chair moves comfortably with your body. No seat depth adjustment is available. |
K mechanism specifications: Back forward tilt: 90.00° |
|||
R mechanism - The R mechanism is the synchro-tilt mechanism, which means that the chair and seat tilt in a pre-determined ratio, and it includes an "anti-kickback" lockout. It features five preset points of tilt for the back/seat ratio (2.3° back tilt to every 1° of seat tilt). Back angle can be adjusted separately. When tilt-lock is unlocked, this chair moves comfortably with your body. The R mechanism can be used with a seat slider or back depth adjuster to allow for correct seat depth adjustment. |
R mechanism specifications: Back forward tilt: 90.00° |
|||
Bodybilt chairs are available with two different types of depth adjustment - a seat slider or a back depth adjuster. Having the ability to adjust seat depth is important because users don't want the seat cushion pressing into the back of their legs, cutting off circulation while seated.
As mentioned above, only chairs with a J mechanism require the additional upgrade for depth adjustment. K mechanisms don't allow for any depth adjustment, and R mechanisms come standard with a seat slider.
A seat slider allows for the seat to slide forward or back, letting users adjust the depth of the seat to properly accommodate leg length. A seat slider is not available with K mechanisms, and comes standard on R mechanisms.

A back depth adjuster allows for the chair back to slide forward or backward, letting users adjust the back depth to properly accommodate their leg length. A back depth adjuster is not available with K mechanisms.
Proper lower back support is crucial to a healthy seated posture.

Air Lumbar - With the backrest height set to fit the curvature of your lower back (lumbar region), the Air Lumbar® can be inflated to adjust the firmness of the backrest by pumping air into the lumbar area. To inflate the backrest, press the black rubber bulb with your thumb or fingers until the lumbar area is noticeably firmer. To let the air out, press the black button.
S'port Foam Lumbar - Crafted of comfortable S'port memory foam, the S'port lumbar is non-adjustable but perfect for those that prefer that softer, contoured feel. Adjust your seat back height for proper placement.
Standard back cushion padding on all BodyBilt chairs consists of durable and comfortable multi-density foam, unlike less expensive chairs that use single-density molded foam cushions.

S'Port Ridge - A BodyBilt exclusive feature,
The S’port Ridge is a vertical foam ridge that offers amazing added support to the
middle (thoracic region) and upper back. |
Your eyes may not see it, but your body will definitely feel it! It's an innovation that will change the ergonomic industry's perception of the standard for seating. BodyBilt's new S'port Ridge™, a raised perimeter in the backrest that supports the upper thorax, will make a big improvement in the comfort level of the user. The difference simply has to be experienced to be appreciated. Note: Entire back includes S'port Foam
The S'port Ridge™ was conceived and developed by BodyBilt in conjunction with occupational therapists in
an effort to address this vital area for our seated end users. The S'port Ridge™ is a raised, vertical foam
cushion which is placed along the thoracic ridge and lumbar support areas of the back. This thoracic support encourages a person to sit with their shoulders rolled back while seated, the way the body should be. This healthy posture enables the scalene muscles to relax, relieving pressure on the brachial plexus nerves. It also alleviates the increased tension in the muscles of the upper back, and
improves breathing by raising the chest cavity.
The S'port Ridge™ delineates the proper curvature of our spinal cord, supporting it in a natural, healthy posture during the seated portion of a workday. This relaxed posture alleviates back and neck aches, tiredness and fatigue, and improves circulation and digestion.
Choose the contour of your Bodybilt 2500 Series seat.

Seat 8 - Minimally contoured - For those that prefer less contouring to their seat. Minimal bolsters means a larger seating area. Measures 19.5" deep x 21" wide. BodyBilt strongly recommends the addition of S'port Foam to this seat. |
![]() |
Seat 7 - Moderately contoured - The #7 seat is the most popular of all the BodyBilt seat options. Moderate contouring helps minimize pressure points and better supports your body, reducing the possibility of back pain. Optional back depth adjuster will allow the depth of this seat to fit most bodies. 19" deep x 21" wide. |
![]() |
Seat 2 - Highly contoured - Bodybilt's original seat pan, it is designed to offer the highest level of support in a forward tilt position and the pommel (bump in middle) reminds you to sit back in your chair which is healthier for your back. Contours reduce pressure points which can cause numbness and/or back pain. 19" deep x 23" wide. |
Standard seat padding is constructed of mutiple layers of multi-density foam which provide softness where you want it and firmness for superior support. Less expensive chairs use a single density foam.

S'port Foam seat - S'port Foam is BodyBilt's added layer of memory foam in seat and/or backrest. As with all foam layers in our seats and back, the added S'port Foam is strategically positioned for maximum effect in softness, pressure reduction and anatomical fit. |

ROHO Cushioning - For 30 years, the ROHO cushion (www.therohogroup.com) has countered the pressures associated with wheelchair users, and now BodyBilt offers the seated worker the same technology perfectly fitted and positioned under the foam. The ROHO option is a network of individual, interconnected air cells that allow air to slowly transfer from chamber to chamber as it more evenly distributes body weight and enhances blood flow. BodyBilt's unique seat contour system of passive weight dispersion + Air cushioning of ROHO® dry flotation technology = The virtual elimination of seated pressure |

The cylinder you select will determine how high or low you can position yourself in front of your work area or desk. Most chairs come with a
standard cylinder which will work well for most people. When your chair is adjusted to a proper height, your feet should rest flat on the ground. However, your proximity to your work surface takes precedence over height from floor. If your work surface is higher, you may need a taller cylinder and either a foot ring or foot rest for proper positioning.
![]() |
Standard Cylinder: Standard on most models, measures 5.5" and offers a seat height range of 16.5" - 22" (range is half an inch lower on #7 seat). Standard color is black, but chrome is available at no extra charge. |
![]() |
Short Cylinder: The short cylinder is literally half the size of the standard, measuring 2.75", and may be a good option if you know that your work or typing surface is lower than normal. If your keyboard sits below 27" from the floor, you may be better off with a short cylinder. Also available in chrome. Seat height adjustment range is 14.25" - 17" (range is half an inch lower on #7 seat). |
![]() |
Tall Cylinder: 7.5" stroke works well for those seeking a high chair for a higher work surface or a sit-stand workstation. Height adjustment range is 21.5" - 29". Use of a footring is highly recommended. Also available in chrome. |
![]() |
Extra Tall Cylinder: With a height range of 10", this is the tallest cylinder option available for Task Seating only, and should be combined with a footring for safety. Again, it is not as much a matter of the size of the person as it is the height of the work surface. If your work surface is extraordinarily higher than most standard desks and work surfaces, this option will be a good choice. Use of glides or locking casters is a must for safety. |

26" Base w/ Hooded Casters - The 26” core-diameter, plastic base is standard on most chairs |

25" Wooden Base Cap (mahogany) - 25” diameter, metal base with red, stained caps for a very rich look |

27" Base w/ Hooded Casters - B2: The 27” diameter base is standard on big & tall chairs, intensive-use chairs and stools (high cylinders). |

Carpet Casters - Carpet compatible, dual wheel casters are standard |
![]() |
Hard Floor Casters - Soft, dual wheel casters are optional at no added cost. Good choice for hard wood floor or in areas where the chair tends to roll too easily. |

Glides - These are a stationary alternative to rolling casters. |

Unoccupied Braking Casters (carpeted) - Carpet compatible casters that resist rolling when there is no weight in the chair. |

Wipe clean Nytek nylon fiber matrix is more durable than vinyl but wipes clean, making it great for labs, medical offices and other situations where the ability to wipe your chair clean is important. A durable, polyester/nylon blend crafted of 78% post-industrial recycled materials. Milestone is very durable, as it is rated at 300,000+ double rubs. Meets CA flammability standards.

These are very high quality synthetic leathers and not vinyl. They all wipe clean, have an extraordinarily soft hand, and will outlast leather. They are also more breathable than leather, so they are not hot to sit on. All meet CA 117 flame retardancy requirements. These offer an excellent alternative for customers who want leather, but either don't want to pay the price (as BodyBilt only uses the highest quality, Scandinavian hides), or need something easier to clean and longer lasting. All are 100% polyurethane surface with 100% reinforced rayon backing.
Brisa offers a medium grain and is treated for anti-microbial properties, making this a great option for health care use as well as any office or home office setting. Durability is rated at 200,000+ double rubs
Same as Brisa above, but with a rustic, saddle-like appearance. This one is not anti-microbial.
Ultraleather has a finer grain than Brisa, almost impossible to distinguish between this one and real leather. Extremely long lasting with an abrasion rating of 400,000+ double rubs.
Ultraleather plus looks just like Ultraleather but is even more durable at 500,000+ double rubs. Anti-microbial.
Has a more visible grain than the other Ultraleathers (except for the Brisa Distressed) and a slight sheen. Anti-microbial.
Ergogenesis/BodyBilt only uses genuine Scandinavian hides. Elmosoft leather is recyclable and biodegradable, chrome-free and environmentally green. This is a full grain, semi-aniline leather with a light protective finish to protect against spills. This has a very luxurious, soft feel. This is never corrected, buffed or altered in any way. This is extremely high quality leather.
