The track mounts to the underside of your work surface and is what the mechanism slides forward and back on. Standard length on this mechanism is 21 5/8". If you do not have enough depth under your work surface to clear this, please see our Humanscale 500 & 550 Big Keyboard Tray - Design Your Own listing. Be sure to measure the depth under your desk (front to back) to confirm the track will fit; you need to have a track at least 1/2" shorter than the overall depth of your desk.
Choose no palm support or a 27'' long foam or gel filled palm support. Both palm supports are easy to clean and removable.
The Humanscale 500 Big Keyboard Tray design ensures that users type and mouse within their neutral reach zone, creating a safe, comfortable and sustainable work environment. The neutral zone in a standard office workspace is defined as the area where a user sits and works at a desk and can easily reach and interact with surrounding computer accessories, including a keyboard and mouse. Unlike older generation keyboard and mouse solutions, Humanscale keyboard trays are designed to ensure that nearly all users are able to work consistently within their Neutral Reach Zone, and thus maintain a low-risk posture. These boards keep everything on one worksurface rather than use a mousing platform; this keeps a mouse on the same tilt as a keyboard in use. If you prefer to set the mousing surface angle separately, any of the other Humanscale keyboard trays aside from the 400 keyboard tray platform offer this option.

The Humanscale 500 Big Board Keyboard Tray provides a wide, sturdy surface that can improve the quality of your ergonomic workstation by putting both your mouse and keyboard at a comfortable height on a single surface. The sturdy, height-adjustable mechanism with a built-in negative tilt function assists in keeping your wrists straight and your arms at a comfortable height, preventing stress commonly associated with poor mouse and keyboard placement.

This tray is generously sized (the biggest I can fit under my 30" desk!) and well built. I feel like it will last for years with proper care. I would definitely recommend it to others. Just two small quibbles: 1.) The mechanism does tend to drift upward a little as I slide the tray in and out from under my desk. It would be great if it were possible to fix or lock the tray position semi-permanently. 2.) I chose not to buy a wrist rest, and the exposed mounting holes for that are kind of unattractive.

Great product, extremely robust and will last a lifetime. Comparable to Anthro or other commercial rated office furniture. Since I'm very short, this is one of the very few keyboard tray systems that actually tilts to my level which is shorter than average. All of my wrist problems have ceased the day I started using it! No joke. This product does need a little assembling, and I had to ask a friend to install for me, because it is heavy duty material and was too heavy for me to wrangle myself. I highly recommend without reservation.
