Day of Dads: Happy Father's Day from Human Solution

It seems like only a month since we celebrated a parent. And it was so nice we’re doing it twice with the impending arrival of Father’s Day. We still love Mom lots but this weekend Daddy gets a day to shine. And by shine I mean be showered in an abundance of gifts ranging from socks, to neckties, to an apron or...something. There’s probably a wholesome one-liner on it, making it a great addition to the rest of his collection of random apparel from Daddy’s days past. But if you feel that Dad’s apron collection is getting a little out of hand, why not change it up this year?

While you could go the "traditional" route with a standard recliner, remember that a typical recliner gets used at most 4 hours out of a 24 hour day. The rest of that time Dad is at work doing work-type things and, while wanting Dad to be comfortable at home is a noble intention, why wouldn’t you want him to be comfortable in the space where he spends most of his time? The office recliner isn’t really a thing, but you can get him a very nice office chair at a reasonable price. Something like the Raynor Ergohuman LE9ERG. It’s upholstered with leather for that “executive” look and features a very pronounced lumbar, which is great if Dad likes to have a lot of support on his lower back. The chair also features a seat slider adjustment for the seat depth, a back tension adjustment that adjusts the amount of force needed to recline back in the chair, and height-adjustable arms for ideal arm positioning that reduces strain on the arms and shoulders. If Dad doesn’t need any head or neck support, the Ergohuman is also available without a headrest.

Another ergonomic chair to note is the Steelcase Leap Chair. This one is probably our most popular seller and for good reason. The arms are height and width adjustable and can pivot to Dad's sitting sweet spot. The chair's lumbar support is more subtle than the Ergohuman but the Leap has a dial on the side that adjusts lower back firmness and another that adjusts upper back force. There is also an optional lumbar adjustment that you can add on, which lets you fine-tune the lumbar support to exactly where you need it. The Steelcase Leap comes with a seat depth adjustment and back stop as well, so basically, this one has all of the bells and whistles you'd want in an ergonomic chair.

Of course the only way to truly know if a chair is going to be a good fit for dear old Dad is to have him actually try the chair out. This may be difficult to accomplish if you aren’t located anywhere near our showroom in Austin, TX but the Steelcase line of chairs has a pretty sweet deal that basically gives you a worry-free trial period. Steelcase chairs like the Steelcase Leap may be a bit higher in price than the Raynor Ergohuman, but they come with a 30-day free return period. So if Dad tries the chair out and decides he doesn’t like it within 30 days, all you need to do is call us for the return and we’ll set it up for you. No outbound fees, no restocking fees, just us sending you a return label and refunding you your cash.

If your dear papa is good on chairs, we have a bunch of other options as well. You could always go with a stylish lamp and save him from the perils of gratuitous eye strain. The UPLIFT  LED Task Light is probably the most affordable quality option, and I don’t say that just because it’s one of our house products. The UPLIFT Task Light can illuminate a workspace with the best of ‘em and includes features such as a touch panel with dimmer control and color mode adjustments. The task light is also designed with folding angle adjustment and biaxial rotation, which allows Dad to get the light right where he needs it and with the Task Light's low power consumption, you’ll save energy as well as your Father’s eyesight.

Now we can’t do a gift suggestion list without including the gift that keeps on giving. Our UPLIFT Height Adjustable Desk allows users to go from sitting to standing and vice versa in seconds. It’s also available in a wide range of colors and styles to match whatever décor Dad has going on in his office, study, or basement man cave. And this Father’s Day you can save some money with our Summer sale promo, which includes a Notebook and Tablet Stand, 4-Port 3.0 USB Hub, Standing Mat, Half Circle Desk Drawer, and a set of Desk Hooks from UPLIFT Desk - all for free! That’s a $150 value folks, and while it doesn’t stack with other offers, it’s a great way to trick out Dad’s desk and save some money.

So rather than adding to Dad’s already overflowing collection of ties and socks, why not branch out and improve his work life instead of his wardrobe? You can’t buy Dad’s happiness but you can give him fewer things to frown about. If you have any questions about what products will help your Father to solve his ergonomic woes, feel free to call our reps at 800-531-3746 and, as always, we’ll be happy to assist!
