The Shimpo LS-S50MLR laser sensor can be taught to recognize the difference between colors. It uses a Class 1 red laser with a switching frequency of 1.5 kHz and is contained within a metal housing.
This sensor can be used for multiple applications when paired with various Shimpo tachometers, counters, and stroboscopes. It has a 6' long cable and a trimmer potentiometer. It can be configured for use in normally closed or normally open positions.

The two optional models of this sensor are identical in performance and specifications. The difference between the two is that the LS-S50MLR-DT311 is designed to work with the DT-311A stroboscope and the LS-S50MLR works with all other Shimpo stroboscopes, counters and panel tachometers.
