F.A.Q.

  1. Is it difficult to master walking while working?

It takes most people just a few days to get used to working while in motion; however, those who are prone to motion sickness may have more of an uphill battle. Even general mousing gets easier with time, although precision mousing may always be somewhat difficult.

  2. I talk on the phone while working, will the sound of the treadmill get in the way of my phone calls?

The treadmill motor will be quiet enough so as not to bother the other person on the line.

  3. Is it safe to walk on a treadmill while working?

This treadmill comes standard with many safety features, so the answer is yes! Markings on the belt help you identify when the belt is moving and the belt will pause when you step off.

  4. Can I also use this treadmill to run?

No, this treadmill has a maximum speed of 4.0 mph because it is meant to be used at a standing desk.

  5. What size of desk is this treadmill compatible with?

Any UPLIFT Desk that is 42" or larger will support a treadmill. However, if you wish to also have room to place your chair under the desk, you should order at least a 72" desktop.

  6. Can I order this with standard treadmill handles?

No, the purpose of this treadmill is to be used underneath a sit-to-stand desk and treadmill handles are not an option. Users who walk while working maintain a slow enough speed so as not to need the support of handles.

  7. What if I use this treadmill for longer than the recommended time each day?

If you use the treadmill for longer than the recommended daily usage time, you risk burning out the motor.

Accessories

The UPLIFT Treadmill Mat is a must-have accessory for your LifeSpan treadmill. The mat will help prevent dust and dirt from getting into the machinery of your treadmill, keeping your equipment safe. It helps to absorb impact, reduce vibrations, and protect your floor, and the textured, non-slip surface is easy to clean.

LifeSpan Treadmill Lubricant is the grease recommended by the manufacturer for proper maintenance of the LifeSpan treadmill. You should lubricate your treadmill's running belt after 40 hours of use or every three months. This bottle will come with enough lubricant for four applications or about one year's worth.

If you are motivated to walk while you work GET IT

Posted by Rob C. on Jul 17th 2017

I researched many ways to exercise while working and concluded that a treadmill was the best way for me to go. I purchased the Uplift desk and a bunch of accessories 2 years ago (from Human Solution) and found that standing while doing my job worked for me. However, just standing will not burn many calories, improve cardiovascular health to any appreciable degree, strengthen your core and back, or build muscle in your legs. SO, this is where the Lifespan TR5000 came in. After doing a ton of online research I chose this treadmill because I work from home and often spend more than 6, 8, or 10 hours (chained to) working at my desk. I wanted a treadmill with a strong enough motor to withstand many hours of use. Also, I liked the simple control panel that it comes with. It is NOT super high tech, but it works really well and it is super-easy to set up and use. This is important when you are working. You don't want to be *$#4*!ing around with the treadmill when you are working on your projects. In short, I've had the TR5000 for three months and I love it! I totally feel the difference and feel gratified knowing that most days I am walking over 4-5 miles during work. I even bought a weighted vest that I wear for part of the day to increase the workload. In my experience, you can walk up to 2mph to read, up to 1.5 to do average computer work with a mouse, and up to 1mph to do fine mouse work. BTW, the Human Solution staff were first rate in every way during all stages of all of my transactions with them. Finally, this is a completely unsolicited review. I'm just a happy customer.
